Requirements for the Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL)

  • Instrument Flight – 7.0 hours C172
  • CSU/Retract Endorsement – 4 hours Piper Arrow
  • Solo Navigation Consolidation – 10 hours C172 & 25 hours Piper Arrow
  • Solo Local Revision – 8.0 hours Piper Arrow
  • Dual Local & Navigation Revision – 22 hours Piper Arrow
  • General Solo Flying – 6 hours C172
  • Pre-CPL Flight Test – 3.5 hours Piper Arrow
  • CPL Flight Test – 2.5 hours Piper Arrow
  • Pass an inflight examination, thus demonstrating to the Approved Testing Officer (ATO) that you have reached the competency level required for the issue of an Commercial Pilot Licence
