Progress to a Private Pilot Licence
- Undertake a conversion to the larger 4 seat aircraft, a Cessna 172
- Conduct a series of navigation exercises (~ 24 hours)
- Sit and pass a computer based theory exam
- Pass the solo Navigation and you’re ready to sit your Private Pilot Licence flight test
- Pass an inflight examination, thus demonstrating to the Chief Flying Instructor (CFI) that you have reached the competency level required for the issue of an Private Pilot Licence (PPL)
With a PPL licence you can fly anywhere in Australia, in fact the world
The Private Pilots Licence, whilst giving you the freedom of the open skies, is restrictive as it only allows pilots to fly during daylight hours as per Civil Aviation Regulations. You may wish to gain a Night Rating.
For pilots wishing to pursue a career in aviation, the next step to your flight training is the Commercial Pilot Licence
