Start with a Trial Introductory Flight
- An initial ground brief introduces the basics of flying
- From start-up on the tarmac, you take control of the Tecnam Sierra or a Cessna 152 aircraft with a qualified instructor at your side
- Pull back on the control column and lift off the runway
- Learn how it feels to turn and bank the aircraft

Gain your General Flying Progress Test (GFPT)

- We’ll help you with the paperwork to apply for:
- Aviation Reference Number (ARN)
- Student Pilot Licence (SPL)
- CASA Aviation Identification
- Aviation Security Status Check applications
- Before your first solo:
- You’ll need to undergo a standard Aviation Medical
- Complete a pre-solo air legislation exam, our ground school classes will help you with this
Requirements for the General Flying Progress Test
- Average 30 hours dual flight training
- Average 5 hours solo flight training
- Associated ground briefs
- Sit and pass 3 theory examinations
- Pass an inflight examination, thus demonstrating to the Chief Flying Instructor (CFI) that you have reached the competency level required for the issue of a General Flying Progress Test (GFPT)
Your instructor will guide you through all aspects of gaining your GFPT, following our structured training syllabus which is outlined in the Student Pilot Manual
You can elect to conduct lessons in either a Tecnam Sierra or a Cessna 152 (both are two seat aircraft). Both aircraft are easy to fly and will teach you sound flying habits and skills that are easily transferred to other aircraft
The minimum flying requirements for the GFPT is 20 hours. Your safety is our major concern; hence all students are trained to the high standard we expect. From our experience, we have found that the average student requires 35 hours of training.
With your GFPT you can fly with passengers, within 10 nautical miles of Bunbury Airport training area. Hire a Bunbury Aero Club plane and take your friends and family for a flight!
